So you’ve decided that you’re more of a Sith in the war for the galaxy. You’re looking to crush the Rebel Forces with your cold, icy grip and make any possible enemies quiver in your presence. Well, you’ve got a long way to go if you plan on spreading your evil throughout the universe, so here’s a little crash course on one of the most popular Siths, Darth Vader – and his historic lightsaber.

Darth Vader’s Lightsaber

Now Darth Vader has had several lightsabers in his lifetime, but we are referencing the one used to murder Obi-Wan Kenobi and sever the hand of his son, Luke Skywalker. Serving as Darth Sidious’ final apprentice, Darth Vader  quickly became the supreme commander of the military for what’s known as the Galactic Empire. Darth Vader built his lightsaber himself, as he had lost his previous lightsaber after a battle on Cabarria.

Darth’s lightsaber had a dual-phase function, which allowed the length of his blade to be altered and controlled while in combat. In addition to this, his lightsaber had two dual-phase focusing crystals, a beveled emitter shroud, a high-output diatium power cell, a black power cell chamber, a length adjustment knob, customary power, and a black-ridged handgrip.

Darth & Lightsaber Care

Darth was oftentimes upgrading and fine-tuning his lightsaber so it always had maximum stability and power. So due to his constant upgrading of his lightsaber, the exterior of the lightsaber gradually changed under his ownership. Over time, it seemed as though Vader was experimenting with a round emitter shroud that was somewhat similar to his second weapon.

With his lightsaber, it seemed as though Vader was experimenting with a round emitter shroud that was somewhat similar to his second weapon. When he became the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader was no stranger to utilizing his supercharged lightsaber in confrontations with his Jedi foes. When it came to harming lesser foes, Darth Vader was more prone to utilizing the Force when taking care of such victims.

Considering the information above, Darth Vader’s lightsaber has had quite a few alterations made to it as his combat techniques evolved over time. Your experience with your combat lightsaber could very much be the same depending on the amount of creativity, imagination, and “force” you carry, but your experience with a custom lightsaber can be incredibly open ended depending on what you’re looking for.
