JD Logistics has become the first e-commerce company to get authorization for using EPAL’s innovative shipping pallets. The new partnership between JD Logistics and EPAL will enable the distribution of the pallets to all partners in China through JD Cloud Box.

JD Cloud Box is one of the notable platforms that JD.com uses to offer and facilitate logistics transactions. According to the deal between the two companies, JD Cloud Box will also be offering repair and leasing services and offering an online platform for real-time information and related transactions across the country.

By doing so, there will be significant improvements in efficiency for pallet manufacturing and circulation. EPAL has become a globally-recognized open pooling system and is gaining popularity among China logistics carriers. It has been operational for about three decades now. One of the things that have enabled it to stand out in the industry is offering high-quality load carriers.

EPAL offers licenses after carefully checking producers and repair experts across the world. Currently, it has over 1,500 licensed production and repair operations in different countries. JD Logistics is still committed to creating a sustainable supply chain. As a result, JD Cloud Box plans to expand its operations and become a leading platform for exchangeable logistics containers.

The EPAL pallets will be the standard logistics carriers throughout JD’s supply chain. JD.com will also use the company’s products in all international China logistics activities. According to the head of JD Cloud Box, the partnership with EPAL will enable the e-commerce platform to modernize China’s logistics sector.

The Establishment of JD.com

Richard Liu is the founder of JD.com, which was originally known as Jingdong. The China-based business magnate has been the chairman and CEO of the organization for nearly two decades. During his tenure, the company has continued to gain an excellent reputation and become a global brand.

The seasoned business executive grew up in a small village known as Chang’an. He lacked access to modern conveniences such as water and electricity during his childhood. However, that motivated him to aim high and stay focused to achieve his goals. Although his parents grew up in wealthy families, their business empires had already collapsed by the time he was born, and they had started growing rice.

As a child, he would spend a lot of time with his grandmother while his parents were working. His grandmother would encourage him to stay focused on everything he does and ensure he makes the most of what he was given. In some cases, the business executive would help his grandmother to cook simple meals using the ingredients they could afford at the time.

Corn and sweet potatoes were some of the most common ingredients they used to prepare the meals. On rare occasions, his grandmother would ask Liu to accompany her to a local farmers’ cooperative, where she would offer some peanuts and get a good cut of pork. With the cut, they would cook and get a large amount of residual fat, which they could use to cook other meals for months.

The CEO’s parents noted that he was innovative, even at a tender age. One way he displayed his innovativeness was by suggesting the separation of the fat that remained after cooking using hot water. The remaining fat would be used to prepare some soup. Unfortunately, poverty limited his scope.

When he visited the house of the village head and saw many racks of pork, he started dreaming of holding the leadership position. According to him, this would enable him to ensure that every villager had enough meat. When the time came for him to pursue higher education, he got an opportunity to study at Renmin University.
